What it's made for: the sun on the tailgate and scratches in the truck bed.
The two insulated covers closest to it on our rating, with a dated price.
A cover cut for one fridge keeps the vents and the panel clear; on another model it can block the airflow.
What it has going for it
Made for 42 qt fridges. Measure your fridge's footprint anyway: two "same size" fridges can differ by an inch, and an inch matters on a slide or in a cover.
Made for the BougeRV E40. A cover cut for one fridge keeps the vents, the panel and the lid where they belong. On another model it can block the airflow.
3-layer construction, 5 mm of insulation. An extra jacket against the sun on the tailgate, and fewer scratches on the fridge.

Our take
The BougeRV E40 42 Qt Protective Cover earns its place with a 42 qt fit and a cut made for the BougeRV E40. No buyer reviews yet, so this BougeRV insulated cover has to win you over on paper. The catch with the BougeRV: it only fits the fridges it lists, so check yours before you order. We'd pick it if you own the BougeRV E40; otherwise, put it next to the BougeRV CR22 23 Qt Protective Cover first.
Slide it over the fridge, line up the vent openings and the panel, and stow the cords in the pockets.
It shades the fridge on the tailgate and spares the paint in the truck bed; check now and then that nothing blocks the vents.
Before you order the BougeRV E40 42 Qt Protective Cover: check the model, because it is cut for the BougeRV E40, and on another model it can block the vents.
Read the model name off your fridge's label, not off the box, and hold it against the listing. Our accessory fit guide explains what to note.
A cover must leave the vents and the lid alone. Check where the openings sit against your fridge, not against the photo. Our placement guide explains the airflow.
Our accessory fit guide sorts the add-ons that earn their place from the ones that just ride along.

Only if its stated dimensions, connector and model list match your exact fridge and its generation. Check the listing and your fridge's manual; a shared brand name or a plug that looks the same doesn't prove a fit.
